The Power of Macintosh operating system OS X is the heart of this voice over studio. Because audio has, since 1984, been native to the Macintosh, the stability, reliability and performance of the Mac in the audio arena is unparalleled. It's the trusted workhorse of major audio recording studios, and video and film post-production houses around the world. Take it from someone who really knows what he's talking about.
It's why Digidesign made Pro Tools first for the Mac. It's a marriage made in... okay, California. Pro Tools is a recorder, console, and all outboard equipment. A 'studio-in-a-box.' The Sennheiser MKH 416 microphone was chosen because its pickup and response characteristics are perfect for uncolorised voice recording. Powerful and virtually noise-free, the Focusrite Voicemaster Pro strengthens and passes the Sennheiser's signals on to the Mac and Pro Tools by way of the Digi002 Control Surface interface. And, with the Source-Connect plug-in from Source-Elements, syncing up with similarly equipped studios around the world for real-time CD-quality audio sessions is a breeze... without expensive session charges.
If the preferred method for remote sessions is ISDN, always ready and up to the task is the Zephyr Classic from Telos, whose ONE telephone hybrid allows clients to direct by 'phone patch' a recording for later editing and/or delivery. And, delivery is done via email attachment, downloading from my secure server, uploading to yours, or by CD sent via old-fashioned mail, overnight delivery or, for those up to a challenge, by catapult. If your project is unique (and whose isn't), such as for telephone systems or even gaming, more than FIFTY (yep, 50) audio formats are available, thanks to BarbaBatch 4 by AudioEase. Mastering (mono or stereo) for Redbook CD and any other appplication is effortlessly handled by Peak Pro 5 from Bias, Inc. The three M's; Monitoring, Mixing and Mastering are done while critically listening to M-Audio's Studiophile BX5 reference monitors, and/or the SONY MDR-7506 professional headphones. Extensive music and sound effects libraries round out the studio accoutrements. |
